St. Alban’s is a parish of the Episcopal Church USA, and a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The Anglican/Episcopal Church is sometimes called the “bridge” church of Christianity, as we incorporate both Catholic, and Protestant ways in our system.
As with other Christians, we believe in one God, who has revealed Himself as Father, as Son – our Lord Jesus Christ; and as the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Bible as the Word of God, and as the ultimate source of our faith. We treasure the scriptures because through them, God still speaks to us today. We emphasize relevant, practical Biblical preaching and teaching at St. Alban’s.
We worship God every Sunday in the Holy Eucharist – the service of Word and Sacrament. (If you come from a Lutheran or Roman Catholic background, you will find our service very familiar.) We welcome all baptized Christians of whatever background to receive Holy Communion with us. We are blessed with a wonderful music ministry that combines the best of traditional and modern hymns and songs. Our style of worship is reverent, joyful, and inspiring.
We believe in the importance of life-long learning and growth as Christians. We offer Sunday School, Adult Christian Education, Bible Study, and special programs to deepen our spiritual lives.
We believe that God calls us to look beyond ourselves – to see the needs of the world around us, and to respond with the compassion of Christ. We strongly support a variety of ministries that offer practical help to people in need – locally and globally.
Finally, we believe that being a Christian is meant to be a joyful, life-affirming journey. At St. Alban’s, we love to celebrate; to eat lots of great food together; to laugh and have fun; and to experience a glimpse of Heaven in this place.
